Postcard Club is for everyone. I send to assisted living and nursing homes and I send to elementary schools. Postcards go out to teachers and classrooms and students. To expectant mothers and brand new babies. To people who are sick, undergoing treatment, those who are dying and to those who are caring for them. Postcards go out to graduates and college dorms. Poscards go to people living alone and isolated, and postcards go to entire families. Postcards are for easing suffering and for celebrating. Postcards are a gift for family and friends far away, and postcards are a gift of care for yourself. A monthly piece of art to remind each other to find beauty, hope and love in this world.
*It is important for me to note that the cards don't show up in a consistent cadence. I don't create on a schedule. I don't even sit down to execute an art piece with something in mind. What happens is this: I will be folding laundry, or walking at the river, or taking a bath, or drifting off to sleep or or or and all of a sudden my mind empties and my self leaves myself and the words and images just drop in from I don't know where, and I have to immediately grab a pen and paper and frantically, furiously, feverishly dash down a bunch of words and sketch some images and honestly, sometimes I know that it will be amazing, and sometimes I think - I don't even know what this means. In the end, it always comes together exactly right and in perfect timing. But there is no schedule. Seems to me the muses don't work on schedules, so I don't (can't) either. Divine timing only. Cards delivered between the first and last of the month is the promise. Thank you for holding space for the creative flow. XOXO
